WHAT FOOD HELPS BOTOX & ACNE?
Many of you know that I’ve been researching & preaching the benefits of eating for good skin for many years. (I wrote my book, Feed Your Face, over 10 years ago.)
One of the important tidbits I’ve learned is that a common essential mineral can help your skin in different ways.
⭐️ It turns out that ZINC-rich foods can help BOTOX work better AND fight ACNE breakouts.
⭐️ Zinc is essential for Botox to attach to receptors on the wrinkle-causing muscles that are treated. If your diet is low in zinc (which may be the case in those who are vegetarians or vegans) the Botox may not bind to the muscle as efficiently.
⭐️ Zinc is also a natural antiinflammatory agent. Some studies show that those with more severe acne tend to have lower or low-normal zinc levels compared to those with less acne.
⭐️ While I do NOT advocate taking zinc tablets without talking to your doctor (too much zinc can lead to a dangerous copper deficiency), you may want to consider adding zinc-rich foods to your diet if you want these benefits. It’s always better to get nutrients through real food if possible.
⭐️ These include:
- High quality red meat
- Cashews
- Oysters & other shellfish
