WANT HEALTHY, SHINY HAIR?

Here are 3 things you should NEVER do.

#1 ❌ Avoid ROUGH DRYING with a blowdryer, or rubbing vigorously with a terrycloth towel.  While it’s faster, doing these can lift & fray the hair cuticle, making your strands frizzy.

✅  Instead, squeeze out water with a microfiber towel, which absorbs better and leaves less frizz than terry cloth. This one by Kitsch doubles as a hair turban and comes in lots of cute colors & patterns ($23).

✅  If you blow-dry, start from damp hair. Using a brush, move the hairdryer down the length of your hair. Continue until it’s dry, and finish with a blast of cool air.  This helps smooth the cuticle, leaving your hair sleek & shiny.

#2 ❌  Don’t brush WET HAIR 💦.  Wet hair holds water, making it stretch and break really easily.
I use a Tangle Teezer to get my knots out while minimizing breakage.  It comes in different versions, for thick and curly hair; naturally curly hair; or fine & fagile hair.

#3 ❌ Don’t wear a TIGHT PONYTAIL more than a few hours.  Ponytails give you a facelift effect (why do you think it’s so popular for the red carpet 😉), but all that pulling can give you TRACTION ALOPECIA.  This is a condition when hair falls out at the root and gets thin along the temples & hairline.

✅   Take your ponytail down as soon as you get home, and use FABRIC ties to minimize breakage — not rubberbands!
