BEST NIGHTTIME ROUTINE

Skin behaves differently at night, so choose your evening routine wisely! Here’s what to use, according to your skin type/concern:

⭐️ For OILY/ACNE-PRONE SKIN:

-Gel Cleanser. A foaming gel cleanser helps break up oil and lift off sunscreen, makeup, and dead skin cells. Try Neutrogena HydroBoost Gel Cleanser (also comes in a fragrance-free version) or Bioderma Sensibio Foaming Gel Cleanser (if you’re oily and sensitive at the same time)
-Exfoliating toner/Micellar water.
- Treatment for pores. Either a Rx retinoid (tretinoin/adapalene/tazarotene) from your Derm or a nonRx azelaic acid cream (try The Ordinary Azelaic Acid 10% suspension).
-Exfoliate 2-3x/week

⭐️ For DRY/SENSITIVE SKIN:

-Milky/Balm Cleanser to leave your skin soft, not stripped. Try La Roche Posay Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Cleanser, Farmacy Green Clean Makeup Removing Cleansing Balm, or The Inkey List Oat Cleansing Balm.
-Spray toner/Essence to replace moisture (alcohol-free).
-Repair Serum with Niacinamide to repair skin barrier.  Try Paula’s Choice 20% Niacinamide or Naturium 12% + Zinc 2% Serum
-Eye Cream. Many patients use my Dr. Jessica Wu Cosmeceuticals White Peony Eye Contour www.drjessicawu.com/shop
-Moisturizer/Face Oil.

⭐️ For COLLAGEN-BUILDING:

-Mousse Cleanser. I like Avene Cleansing Foam.
-Toner if desired (without alcohol)
-Retinoid Serum or Cream. Try Drunk Elephant A-Passioni Retinol Cream or Roc Retinol Correxion. I also prescribe Rx tretinoin to my patients.
-Eye Cream
-Moisturizer. Many patients use my Dr. Jessica Wu Cosmeceuticals DEW Cream with hyaluronic acid and Chinese botanicals (www.drjessicawu.com/shop).

⭐️ For BRIGHTENING:

-Cleansing Lotion.
-Brightening Toner. Try Versed Weekend Glow Daily Brightening Solution
-Brightening Serum/Cream with Tranexamic Acid such as SkinMedica Lytera 2.0 or Naturium Tranexamic Acid Serum. I also give patients my prescription-strength FADE CREAM Rx which works really well for melasma and deep-set sun damage.
-Eye Cream
-Moisturizer
-Exfoliate 2-3x/Week
