Summer Beauty Cocktails
If you've read my book (FEED YOUR FACE), you know that I believe in carefully choosing what you eat, but also enjoying your food & drink. So here are my fave skin-friendly yummy drinks to cool you down this summer. (*BTW, they're just as delicious without alcohol😉.)
🌞For 4th of July brunch: Pour BLOODY MARYS. (Better for you than mimosas!) Tomatoes 🍅are high in lycopene, an antioxidant that protects against sunburn. To help it absorb better, serve with a healthy fat, like avocado toast🥑. TIP: You can also serve as poptails: Freeze overnight and run under hot water to unmold.
🌞At a barbecue or by the pool: Serve CUCUMBER🥒GINGER-LIME SLUSHIES. Cucumber hydrates, and ginger is antiinflammatory. In a blender, add peeled sliced cucumber, ginger beer (I found a no sugar version), splash of gin, squeeze of fresh lime juice, simple syrup, and plenty of ice. Blend to slushy consistency. Add more lime or simple syrup to taste.
🌞When the sun goes down: Make GREEN TEA 🍵MOJITOS. Simply add 1/4 - 1/2 cup iced green tea to your favorite mojito recipe. Green tea helps fight DNA damage after sun exposure, and helps balance the sweetness of the drink.
