HOW TO CHOOSE PEEL PADS

PEEL PADS are really convenient when you’re short on time.  Just be sure you’re choosing the right one for your skin concern. Here are some of my favorites:

⭐️ To BRIGHTEN dull or uneven skin tone and texture, look for pads with GLYCOLIC ACID or NIACINAMIDE. Glycolic acid gradually lifts off layers of hyperpigmentation,  while niacinamide is a gentle skin brightening ingredient that also has collagen building, hydrating, and anti-inflammatory effects.

⭐️ In my office, I just started carrying these @skinmedica Even & Correct Treatment Pads, which contain both of those plus TRANEXAMIC ACID, an ingredient that I’ve discussed before.

⭐️ I also use Tranexamic Acid (TXA) when I do in-office Medical Microneedling treatments for my patients with Melasma, Sun Damage, or other causes of uneven pigmentation.

⭐️ For SENSITIVE SKIN, look for ALCOHOL-FREE pads like the @pacificabeauty GLOW BABY Brightening Peel Pads.  These contain Lactic, Glycolic, and Salicylic acids (in gentle concentrations), plus Niacinamide.

⭐️ For COLLAGEN-BUILDING, look for peel pads with RETINOL, like the @peterthomasrothofficial EVEN SMOOTHER peel pads.  These contain 20% Glycolic Acid Complex and 1.5% Time-Released Microencapsulated Retinol.  These Retinol pads won’t be as potent as many retinol creams or a prescription-strength retinoid (like tretinoin).  Still, they’re a good option if you’re very oily, or you prefer your skin to feel bare and don’t like the feel of a cream on your skin.

⭐️ To fight ACNE, look for SALICYLIC ACID pads like these Clearasil Pads.  These are also good for BODY ACNE (backne; chestne; buttne).  They’re handy for after working out if you can’t wash your face right away.  They can also help ingrowns.

❌ DON”T use them right after shaving!
