TYPE 2 FUN
Every ski season, I have a goal that I train for. This year's challenge (next weekend) involves a hike up a mountain then skiing down. ⛷️
To prepare my legs, my lungs, & my mind, I've been walking on my treadmill in my ski gear, carrying weights. I worked up to 30lb dumbbells at incline 12 for 30 minutes. I also worked up to a 10-minute wall-sit. Not easy for this sea level, city-dweller who was unfit and used to get winded climbing up a flight of stairs. 😮💨
I'm a little scared, but I can't wait to see what I can do. For me, it will be an example of "Type 2" fun: challenging & uncomfortable (maybe even miserable) in the moment, but fun in retrospect. 🙏 to my coaches @tedmahon @mrsuccessfu1.
